DR ‹ › Egypt reaffirmed on Monday in Cairo its support for Morocco's territorial integrity and expressed backing for UN Security Council Resolution 2797, as well as for a mutually agreed political solution to the Sahara issue. The resolution underscores that genuine autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty is the most viable solution to resolve the Moroccan Sahara dispute. This position was formalized in the minutes of the first session of the Morocco–Egypt Coordination and Monitoring Committee, co-chaired by Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch and Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. It reflects Cairo's support for the current UN-led roadmap, which places Morocco's autonomy initiative at the core of the political process.
