DR ‹ › An incident involving students at Quaà Asserasse High School, under the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education in Chefchaouen, has sparked widespread controversy on social media after images showed them raising the Israeli flag during an educational activity. Many users have called for an investigation to determine responsibility. Photos published by the Regional Directorate on its Facebook page show students holding flags of various countries, including Israel's. In another image, the Israeli flag appears placed on a table alongside other national flags. In a Facebook post published yesterday, the Directorate said the activity was part of the implementation of educational reform projects under the 2022–2026 roadmap, aimed at improving the quality of public education, promoting student openness, and developing life skills and citizenship values. It added that the event, held on April 24 and 25, 2026, falls within the Model United Nations program, described as an effective educational tool to strengthen students' personalities, enhance communication, dialogue and critical thinking skills, and promote a culture of peace and coexistence. The Directorate also noted that the activity, organized under the theme «International Peace and Security: A Shared Responsibility Among Nations», brought together three institutions: Quaà Asserasse High School, Tasift High School, and Quaà Asserasse Preparatory School. Yabiladi attempted to contact the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of National Education in Chefchaouen, but received no response.
