Today, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares is appearing before the House of Representatives to brief lawmakers on the reopening of customs posts in the cities of Ceuta and Melilla, as well as to outline Spain's foreign policy priorities for 2025, according to the Melilla Hoy website. Albares' appearance comes roughly two weeks after his meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita in Madrid, where both sides reaffirmed the «excellent relations» between the two countries and praised the progress made on the roadmap adopted three years ago by Madrid and Rabat. In this context, the reopening of commercial customs in Melilla was cited as evidence of the smooth functioning of bilateral relations. The two ministers also highlighted their cooperation on migration, which has delivered notable results, particularly in the areas of circular migration and the fight against criminal networks involved in smuggling irregular migrants.
