American, British, and Mexican millionaires are increasingly creating authentic Moroccan palaces in their home countries, importing skilled craftsmen from Morocco to design and build tranquil oases that reflect traditional Moroccan architecture. The famous YouTube channel «The Luxury Home Show», which specializes in architecture and design, highlighted Moroccan architecture through Howard Panes's $18.9 million residence in Palm Desert, California. The 20,000-square-foot property took six years to complete with collaboration between American and Moroccan architects. «This was handcrafted over six years with Moroccan artisans», Panes explains in the video tour. The property, built on nearly an acre of land in the prestigious Bighorn community, features meticulous craftsmanship throughout. According to the documentary, the home showcases traditional elements including hand-carved wooden doors, intricate mosaic tilework, marble floors with detailed inlays, and specialized Moroccan plaster techniques. The previous owner reportedly spent eight years coordinating with craftsmen from Morocco to realize this architectural vision. Similar luxurious Moroccan-inspired residences can now be found in Miami, Acapulco, and Cancun, reflecting a growing trend among the wealthy to create serene environments inspired by Moroccan design principles and craftsmanship.
