On Wednesday, Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch presided over the official launch of Morocco's foreign trade sector roadmap for the 2025–2027 period in Casablanca. The roadmap is built around three strategic objectives: creating approximately 76,000 new jobs, expanding the export base by establishing 400 new export companies each year, and generating an additional 84 billion dirhams (MMDH) in export revenues. Speaking at the ceremony, Akhannouch emphasized that the roadmap aims to establish a coherent and ambitious framework for the development of this vital sector, transforming it into a true driver of Morocco's economic and social development. «Through this roadmap, we aim to generate an additional export turnover of more than 80 billion dirhams. It also aims to broaden the base of exporters, targeting an average of 400 new exporters per year», the Prime Minister noted. To achieve these objectives, an integrated and participatory approach has been adopted, structured around four key intervention levers and six cross-cutting reforms, he explained. The implementation of the roadmap will also include cross-cutting measures, such as boosting exports of handicrafts and products from the social and solidarity economy, as well as the establishment of regional offices to support foreign trade across all of Morocco's regions. «The government places great hopes on the optimal implementation of this roadmap, so that it contributes to achieving our broader objectives, particularly regarding employment—an absolute priority for us», Akhannouch added, highlighting the goal of creating 76,000 direct jobs through this roadmap over the 2025–2027 period. Notable participants at the ceremony included Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade; Younes Sekkouri, Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills; Fouzi Lekjaa, Deputy Minister in charge of the Budget; Omar Hejira, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade; Mohamed Ould Errachid, President of the House of Councillors; Hassan Sentissi, President of the Moroccan Exporters Association (ASMEX); and Chakib Alj, President of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM).
