Spotify has launched «POPSTARS», a refreshed identity for its «Top Maghreb Pop» playlist, featuring six Moroccan artists who are redefining the country's pop music scene. The campaign includes exclusive interviews, photography, and editorial content showcasing contemporary Moroccan pop artists. The streaming platform reported a 750% increase in streams on its Moroccan pop playlist from 2019 to 2024, indicating growing global interest in the genre. «Moroccan pop is rooted in identity, storytelling, and innovation», said Naoufal El Amrani, Spotify's Senior Artist and Label Partnerships Manager for Maghreb. The featured artists represent diverse approaches to Moroccan pop. Nouamane Belaiachi's hit «Bla Bla» has exceeded 7 million streams with 300,000 monthly listeners. Manal Benchlikha, who made history as the first Arab woman to perform on COLORS in 2022, attracts over 470,000 monthly listeners. Douaa Lahyaoui's 2024 single «Badadi» has garnered 14.5 million streams. DYSTINCT leads with 9 million monthly listeners, while Zouhair Bahaoui maintains 865,000 monthly listeners. RYM Fikri, named a Spotify EQUAL Arabia Ambassador in 2022, reaches over 300,000 monthly listeners.
