Morocco's Royal Air Maroc (RAM) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Côte d'Ivoire (CCI-CI) signed a partnership in Abidjan on Tuesday to offer preferential airfares to Ivorian businesses registered with the Chamber. Signed by RAM's regional representative Mohamed Babou and CCI-CI president Faman Touré, the agreement provides discounts of up to 20% on RAM flights, aiming to improve business mobility and access to international opportunities. The initiative reflects the strong ties between Morocco and Côte d'Ivoire and the shared goal of boosting South–South cooperation. Babou highlighted RAM's role as a flagship African carrier, recalling the strategic importance of the Casablanca–Abidjan route launched in 1984. He noted RAM's goal of doubling its passenger traffic by 2037, expanding to a fleet of 200 aircraft, and positioning Casablanca as a major continental hub. Touré welcomed the agreement as a step forward in economic integration, saying it would facilitate trade, cross-investment, and the international mobility of Ivorian and African business players. He emphasized the potential for joint economic missions and business forums across Africa, Europe, and beyond. Kouyaté Ahoua, Commissioner General of the «Gala PME-CI», praised the partnership as aligned with efforts to support Ivorian SMEs by easing access to markets and business opportunities. She noted the deal emerged from connections made during the Gala, reinforcing its impact beyond an annual event. RAM currently serves over 90 destinations in 50 countries and is a member of the Oneworld alliance, supporting its ambition to become a leading player in African and global connectivity.
