The Justice and Development Party has strongly condemned what it described as a «Zionist terrorist aggression against the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic», calling it a blatant violation of international law and a direct assault on Syria's sovereignty, territorial integrity, and independence in decision-making. The Israeli army launched airstrikes on Syrian territory on Tuesday, reportedly targeting multiple sites including the presidential palace and the general staff headquarters of the Syrian army. According to Israel, the strikes were aimed at deterring Syrian involvement in the ongoing clashes in the city of Suwayda, where it claims to be acting in defense of the Druze minority. In its statement, the party expressed full solidarity with the Syrian people in the face of what it called a «brutal Zionist assault», accusing Israel of seeking to destabilize Syria and derail its efforts toward unity, reconstruction, and the building of a citizenship-based state that includes all Syrians without discrimination. The party called on all segments of the Syrian population, regardless of their political or sectarian affiliations, to unite behind national leadership, reject foreign intervention, and prevent the Zionist enemy from fueling division and undermining Syria's cohesion and stability. It also warned against what it described as «the ongoing Zionist expansionist project in the Arab and Islamic world», pointing to continued attacks on Gaza and accusing certain Arab and Islamic regimes of remaining silent, or complicit, in enabling Israel's agenda of regional domination. The party concluded its statement by urging Arab and Islamic countries to close ranks and adopt firm positions before «it's too late», in order to confront and resist Israeli occupation policies on all fronts.
