A 41-year-old Moroccan man has escaped from the forensic department of a psychiatric and psychotherapy clinic in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. According to BILD, the mentally ill offender fled the LVR Clinic in Langenfeld through a hole in the fence on Wednesday, July 23. «This was already the man's second escape», police spokesman Daniel Uebber confirmed, adding that «intensive manhunt measures are currently underway». The first escape occurred just nine days earlier, on July 14. The man, reportedly suffering from drug-induced mental illness, had been court-ordered to remain at the clinic after committing multiple burglaries and thefts. During his initial escape, he allegedly broke into an apartment before being recaptured. While rumors suggest he may be attempting to evade deportation, the LVR has declined to comment. «We cannot comment on this at this time», said clinic spokeswoman Brigitte Lohmanns. Authorities are currently investigating how the fence was breached. Still at large, he remains the subject of a large-scale search involving helicopters and tracking dogs, which so far has yielded no results.
