OCP Nutricrops announced on July 28 in Casablanca that it has surpassed 5 million tonnes of Triple Super Phosphate (TSP) fertilizer production capacity, thanks to its strategic TSP Hub program launched at the Jorf Lasfar industrial platform. The initiative, led by the Manufacturing Special Business Unit in coordination with OCP Nutricrops, OFAS, and JESA, operates through two production lines with an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes each. The facility produces tailored fertilizers using a flexible industrial process that integrates nutrients and additives based on specific soil and crop needs, reads a press release by OCP Nutricrops. TSP contains over 90% plant-available phosphorus, making it ideal for nutrient-deficient soils and fertilization practices aligned with the 4R principles: Right Source, Right Rate, Right Time, and Right Place. OCP Nutricrops plans to further expand its capacity through an ongoing program to adapt existing nitrogen fertilizer units for TSP production. This initiative is expected to bring the company's annual TSP capacity to over 7 million tonnes by the end of 2025, optimizing industrial assets to meet growing global demand for phosphate-based fertilizers. «The TSP Hub strengthens our ability to deliver high agronomic value fertilizers tailored to specific soil and farmer needs, while enhancing industrial precision and capacity», said Youssef El Bari, CEO of OCP Nutricrops. The facility also supports OCP Group's sustainability strategy by operating with non-conventional water sources. More than 1,200 professionals are involved in coordinating operations on-site.
