King Mohammed VI, Supreme Commander and Chief of the General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), presided Thursday afternoon over the oath-taking ceremony for officers graduating from Morocco's leading military and paramilitary institutions, as well as officers promoted from the ranks. The ceremony took place at Mechouar Square in the Royal Palace of Tetouan, as part of the celebrations marking the 26th anniversary of the King's accession to the throne. Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Prince Moulay Rachid were also present for the occasion. This year's graduating class was named after Sultan Ahmed Al-Mansour Al-Dahbi, in recognition of his legacy of national stability, openness to sub-Saharan Africa, and strengthened diplomatic ties with Europe. «I commend the professionalism and dedication of our military and security forces in fulfilling their national, social, and humanitarian responsibilities», said the King in a speech delivered during the ceremony. After the oath was taken, the King reviewed the detachments of graduating officers and saluted the flags of the Royal Armed Forces. The ceremony featured graduates from the Royal Military Academy, the Royal Air School, the Royal Naval School, and the Royal School of Military Health Services, as well as paramilitary institutions including the Royal Institute of Territorial Administration, the Royal Institute of Police, the National School of Civil Protection, the Mohammedia School of Engineers, the National School of Forest Engineers, the Customs Training School, and the Mohammed VI International Civil Aviation Academy. Also participating were graduates from special training cycles, officers promoted in 2024, and members of previous graduating classes from the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, and Auxiliary Forces. During the event, the King also awarded ranks to newly promoted officers for the year 2025. Earlier in the week, the King received members of the FAR Promotion Commission at the Royal Palace in Tetouan. The commission presented the outcomes of the 2025 promotion process for officers and non-commissioned personnel from the FAR, Royal Gendarmerie, Royal Guard, and Auxiliary Forces. The King approved the promotion lists and extended his congratulations and encouragement to those promoted. The ceremony was attended by the Head of Government, the presidents of both houses of Parliament, royal advisors, cabinet members, senior FAR officers, foreign military attachés, and other civilian and military dignitaries.
