Mahmoud al-Habbash, Mahmoud Abbas's adviser on religious and Islamic affairs, praised the emergency humanitarian and medical aid ordered by King Mohammed VI, in his capacity as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for the Palestinian people, particularly the residents of the Gaza Strip. He described the gesture as a generous initiative that adds to the King's ongoing support for the Palestinian cause. In a statement to the Moroccan news agency (MAP) on Thursday, al-Habbash said, «We commend this noble initiative by His Majesty the King, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and deeply appreciate His Majesty's strong humanitarian and solidarity-driven commitment to the Palestinian people, especially those in Gaza». He noted that Palestinians have grown accustomed to such humanitarian efforts from the Kingdom of Morocco, which reflect the steadfast commitment of the Moroccan people, under the King's leadership, to upholding the values of solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause. The Palestinian official stressed that this humanitarian initiative is «further evidence of the historic responsibility that His Majesty the King, as Chair of the Al-Quds Committee, continues to uphold in supporting the Palestinian people and defending their rights». On Wednesday, Morocco's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates announced that King Mohammed VI had instructed the delivery of urgent humanitarian and medical assistance to the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza. The aid package, totaling around 180 tons, includes essential food items, milk and baby supplies, medicines, surgical equipment, blankets, tents, and other relief materials for the most vulnerable populations.
