DR ‹ › The Moroccan under-20 athletics team made a strong start at the Arab U20 Athletics Championships in Tunis, capturing attention with an impressive haul of one gold, three silver, and three bronze medals on the opening day. Maria Saadi led the charge by securing the gold medal in the long jump, with Ghita Moubtassim adding a bronze to Morocco's tally in the same event. On the men's side, Yassine Mririch claimed the silver medal in long jump. In the men's 3,000 meters, Mohamed Elmeslet took home the silver, closely followed by teammate Abdelhakam Bouhou, who earned the bronze. The women's 3,000 meters saw a similar outcome, with Chaimaa Zhiri winning silver and Ahlam El Kadouri taking bronze. Morocco is competing in this 21st edition of the Arab Athletics Championships with a delegation of 18 young female athletes and 13 males. The event, which officially kicked off this Sunday, runs until April 30. In addition to Morocco, the championship features teams from Tunisia, Algeria, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Sudan, Bahrain, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon, and the United Arab Emirates.
