In celebration of King Mohammed VI's 62nd birthday, Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) is releasing a special commemorative silver coin with a face value of 250 dirhams. The front of this coin proudly displays the likeness of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, encircled by the inscriptions «محمد السادس» and «المملكة المغربية – ⵜⴰⴳⵍⴷⵉⵜ ⵏ ⵍⵎⵖⵔⵉⴱ» in both Arabic and Tifinagh, alongside the year «2025 – 1447», as detailed in a statement from BAM. On the reverse side, the coin features the kingdom's coat of arms, an artistic depiction of Moroccan zellige patterns framed by two olive branches, and the number «62». It also includes the face value in both Arabic numerals and script «250 – مائتان و خمسون درهما», as well as the inscription «الذكرى الثانية و الستون لميلاد صاحب الجلالة محمد السادس» with its French translation: «62ème ANNIVERSAIRE DE S.M. LE ROI MOHAMMED VI». Regarding the coin's specifications, it is crafted from an alloy containing 925 parts silver and 75 parts copper. Weighing 28.28 grams and measuring 38.61 millimeters in diameter, it is notable for its reeded edge and "proof" finish.
