The Moroccan national team of local players clinched its third African Nations Championship (CHAN 2024) title after defeating Madagascar 3-2 in Saturday's final at the Moi International Stadium in Kasarani, Nairobi. The Atlas Lions, champions in 2018 and 2020, sealed victory with goals from Youssef Mehri (27th minute) and a brace from Oussama Lamlaoui (44th and 80th minutes), the latter delivering a stunning winner from midfield. Madagascar's goals came through Félicité Mantasoa (9th minute) and Toky Rakotondraibe (68th minute). Senegal secured third place in this edition after beating Sudan 4-2 on penalties, following a 1-1 draw in regulation time, in Friday's playoff match in Kampala.
