Morocco is set to finalize the purchase of 10 H225M Caracal helicopters, manufactured by Airbus Helicopters. «The aircraft will be equipped with optical and radar systems, state-of-the-art weaponry, and side armor», a Moroccan source told Yabiladi. Talks over the deal began during President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to Morocco in October 2024, when the French Minister of Defense met with his Moroccan counterpart and the Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). Prior to those meetings, French media reported that Morocco was considering the acquisition of 18 Caracal helicopters, 12 for the Air Force and six for the gendarmerie. In July, Morocco and France took another step in defense cooperation by signing an agreement in Rabat to establish a joint armament committee, during the visit of Emmanuel Chiva, France's General Delegate for Armament.
