The first leg of the 2025 Morocco Royal Tour wrapped up on Sunday in Tetouan, where the prestigious Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan prize was awarded as part of the World Cup Grand Prix (LR). Morocco's own Abdeslam Bennani Smires, riding Mister d'Eclipse, delivered a flawless double round with remarkable precision. Organizers hailed this victory as «one of the highlights of this stage». Charif Moulay Abdallah Alaoui, President of the Royal Moroccan Equestrian Sports Federation, presented the awards to Abdeslam Bennani Smires. Following him were Abdulrahman Alrajhi from Saudi Arabia, Anastasia Bondarieva from Ukraine, Chloe Aston from Great Britain, and Nicolas Deseuzes from France. Another Moroccan competitor, Abdelkebir Ouaddar, who claimed victory in this Grand Prix in 2022 with Istanbull V.H Ooievaarshof, finished in ninth place this year. A statement noted that having two Moroccan riders in the jump-off reflects «the positive momentum that national equestrianism is experiencing». The same source emphasized that these achievements further demonstrate «the consistency and progress of Moroccan riders, who are capable of competing with the world's best and proudly representing the Kingdom on the international stage».
