Following royal directives, Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of the National Defense Administration, received Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday at the Administration's headquarters. Singh was accompanied by a high-level delegation on a working visit to Morocco. The visit, focused on strengthening and diversifying bilateral defense cooperation between Morocco and India, was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in the defense sector. The ceremony was held in the presence of Army Corps General Mohammed Berrid, Inspector General of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) and Commander of the Southern Zone, as well as Army Corps General Mohamed Haramou, Commander of the Royal Gendarmerie, according to a statement from the National Defense Administration. The MoU outlines cooperation in areas including training, joint exercises, cybersecurity and cyber defense, defense industry, military health, and the exchange of expertise in fields of mutual interest. It also establishes a joint mechanism for monitoring and coordinating agreed activities. During their talks, the two ministers recalled the longstanding friendship between Morocco and India, which has gained fresh momentum since King Mohammed VI's historic visit to India in 2015 and his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. They reaffirmed the strategic importance of the partnership between the two countries. The discussions also covered regional and bilateral issues, with a particular focus on expanding cooperation in the defense industry, the statement added.
