The Democratic Labor Path Party (Annahj Addimocrati Al Ommali) has once again voiced its backing for the Polisario Front's stance. In a statement released after its national council meeting, this far-left political group shared its perspective on the UN Security Council's adoption of a new resolution regarding the Western Sahara issue on October 31. The party advocates for «initiating direct, responsible, serious, and balanced negotiations between Morocco and the Polisario Front, which could pave the way for a genuine political solution that is peaceful, just, and mutually acceptable to resolve the Western Sahara conflict». This call is echoed by both the Polisario Front and Algeria. The statement underscores that these talks should occur «within the framework of international law, ensuring the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination», aiming to «end the suffering of refugees and break the cycle of regional tensions». Furthermore, the document asserts that «peace cannot substitute justice and that self-determination is not merely a slogan, but a fundamental condition for peoples to coexist in freedom, equality, and dignity». Media outlets aligned with the Polisario have extensively covered this statement. It is noteworthy that a letter from the late Mohamed Abdelaziz, former leader of the Polisario who passed away in 2016, was read at a 2008 congress of this Moroccan far-left party. Despite advocating for the «right of the Sahrawi people to self-determination», the party has been recognized by public authorities since its establishment in 1995.
