The Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT) confirmed a five-year partnership with easyJet, an affordable, multinational British airline, according to a press release on Monday. The partnership will lead to the creation of a base at Marrakech Menara Airport, the low-cost airline's first base outside Europe. The partnership is projected to increase flights to Morocco by 17% in 2026 and aims to service 12 million passengers by 2030. The base is set to open in early 2026, with access to three Airbus aircrafts. It is expected to generate almost 100 direct jobs and thousands of indirect jobs in aviation, tourism, and other services. The agreement comes from the ONMT's push to expand and strengthen tourism infrastructure in Morocco. easyJet is the second most popular budget airline in Europe, behind Ryanair.
