A first-year high school student at Argane Secondary School, located in the village of Taourirt in the Ida Ouklil community (Essaouira province), has been prevented from entering the school and continuing her studies because she was «wearing the niqab» according to a letter addressed to the National Federation of Associations of Mothers, Fathers, and Guardians of Students. In her letter, the student said the school administration treated her with «mockery», describing the decision to bar her from classes as a «violation of her legitimate right to education», which caused her psychological and emotional distress. She explained that she repeatedly attempted to speak with the school administration, the provincial education directorate, and the regional academy. Although she later received a written notice instructing her to return to school, she said she was still not allowed to attend her classes in practice. The student is now urging the federation and parents' associations to intervene to restore her right to education, calling for respect of the laws that guarantee schooling for all students without discrimination.
