For the first time, the La Belle Hip Hop festival is set to make its debut in Africa, taking place from December 12 to 14, 2025, in the vibrant city of Marrakech. This inaugural Moroccan edition, aptly named La Belle Bella Hip Hop, aims to celebrate and amplify women's voices within urban cultures through a program that is both free and open to all. Launched in 2017 in Belgium by Fatima Elajmi, the festival has evolved into «an international movement showcasing female talent in Hip Hop and urban arts», as highlighted by the organizers. Each year, the festival director and programmer brings together artists from over eight countries, offering a rich lineup of concerts, exhibitions, battles, workshops, conferences, and intercultural exchanges. With a universal message of respect, the participating artists in this Marrakech edition hail from diverse disciplines across Belgium and Morocco. They unite for an «artistic and human encounter that will spotlight creativity, solidarity, and the formidable strength of women transcending borders». La Belle Hip Hop champions artistic expression that aligns with its core values of «respect, acceptance, and diversity». It also aims to raise public awareness about violence against women through the power of culture. According to the organizers, the festival's mission is to «build bridges between global artistic scenes, encourage diversity, and promote a message of equality, inclusion, and empowerment». Marrakech was a natural choice for this edition, serving as a «new stage for female expression» and reinforcing the festival's itinerant nature. Indeed, the ochre city «positions itself as a bridge between the North and the South, a hub where culture pulses with the energy of youth, creativity, and sharing». The festival's activities are organized in collaboration with the Ali Zaoua Foundation and the Positive School, hosted at the Les Etoiles de Jemaâ El Fna Cultural Center, with support from the Wallonia-Brussels Federation and the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication.
