Prince Moulay Rachid, President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation, accompanied by Princess Lalla Oum Keltoum, chaired a dinner on Saturday at Bab Ighli in Marrakech to mark the official opening of the 22nd edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival. Upon their arrival, Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Oum Keltoum reviewed a section of the Auxiliary Forces before being greeted by Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah; Minister of National Planning, Urban Development, Housing, and City Policy and President of the Municipality of Marrakech Fatima-Ezzahra El Mansouri; Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts, and Social and Solidarity Economy Fatim-Zahra Ammor; and Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid. They were also welcomed by the Wali of the Marrakech-Safi region and Governor of the Prefecture of Marrakech, Khatib El Hebil; President of the Marrakech-Safi region Samir Goudar; President of the Marrakech Prefectural Council Jamila Afif; and President of the Mechouar-Kasbah Municipal Council Abderrahmane Ouafa. Prince Moulay Rachid and Princess Lalla Oum Keltoum were then greeted by Deputy Vice President of the Marrakech International Film Festival Foundation Faïçal Laraïchi; Advisor to the Foundation's President Mélita Toscan Du Plantier; Artistic Director Rémi Bonhomme; Financial Advisor Azeddine Benmoussa; Festival Secretary General Fadwa Megzari; Treasurer General Saad Imani; Financial Director Naoufal Bensouda; and General Coordinator Ali Hajji. They later proceeded to the Hall of Honor, where they met the jury of the 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival, international guest stars, as well as national and foreign partners. The 22nd Marrakech International Film Festival opened on Friday evening at the Palais des Congrès in Marrakech, under the patronage of King Mohammed VI, in the presence of leading figures and dignitaries from the worlds of cinema, art, culture, and media, both from Morocco and abroad.
