On Tuesday in Salé, a groundbreaking initiative was unveiled: a discount card aimed at making train travel more accessible for people with disabilities. This announcement came during a meeting led by the Minister of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family, Naïma Ibn Yahya, alongside the Secretary of State for Social Inclusion, Abdeljabbar Rachidi, the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh, and the Director General of the National Railway Office (ONCF), Mohamed Rabie Khlie. The event served as a platform to showcase ONCF's commitment to providing equitable and inclusive access to rail services, particularly for individuals with disabilities, according to an ONCF statement. This initiative is part of a broader sustainable vision and aligns seamlessly with the national strategy dedicated to ensuring the effective exercise of rights for this vital segment of society. In this context, a new agreement has been signed to benefit people with disabilities, offering a preferential rate with a 50% discount for holders of the disability card issued by the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family. Additionally, companions of blind or visually impaired individuals will also be eligible for a special 50% discount, according to the same source. This agreement builds upon the achievements of the July 23, 2025, accord focused on enhancing rail transport accessibility for people with disabilities, developed through a collaborative process with the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Inclusion and Family. The initiative is fully integrated into ONCF's environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategy, underscoring the importance of modern, safe, and inclusive rail transport accessibility, the statement concludes.
