The Real Madrid Foundation officially launched its educational football program in Morocco on Thursday, hosted at the American School in Rabat. This initiative, in collaboration with Play Makers, a Moroccan organization dedicated to education through sports, aligns with the national strategy to foster youth development and boost sports engagement. Both institutions are united in their commitment to youth sports education, transcending the athletic sphere by leveraging football's universal appeal to teach essential skills and core values to the younger generation. During the event, Julio Gonzalez Ronco, president of the Real Madrid Foundation, emphasized that the program's goal is not to train professional athletes but to nurture active and engaged citizens. He explained that the Real Madrid Foundation employs sports as a vehicle for education, aiming to instill values such as respect, teamwork, solidarity, and hope. Participants are selected based on their eagerness to learn and grow, rather than their athletic prowess. Maroua Jrairi and Hamza Megzari, co-founders of Play Makers, remarked that the program's launch in Rabat is just the beginning of a comprehensive national vision to extend this model to all Moroccan youth. They stressed that this initiative is more than just a football program. It creates an educational setting that emphasizes the values of sports, respect, and participation, helping children develop their personalities, boost their self-confidence, and cultivate a sense of responsibility. The Educational Football Program (EFP) is an annual project by the Real Madrid Foundation, offering a top-tier training experience grounded in values. It allows children and young people to learn through authentic game scenarios within an inclusive and educational framework.
