After years of delays, unfinished work, and repeated postponements, the Ain Sebaa Zoo is finally set to reopen to the public on Monday, December 22, according to the vice-president of the Casablanca municipal council. Ahmed Afifal confirmed that the long-awaited inauguration is now imminent, noting that all work inside the park has been completed and that a dedicated team has already been appointed to oversee its maintenance and management. «There is no reason to delay its opening. We chose this timing to coincide with AFCON 2025 festivities and the arrival of African supporters», he told Médias24 on Thursday. The Ain Sebaa Zoo spans 13 hectares, including 10 hectares dedicated to animal habitats. It is expected to host 319 animals representing 75 species. Among them are elephants Jana and Praya, rescued from a circus, who will now welcome visitors in Casablanca. The zoo will be managed by Dream Village, under a 20-year delegated operation contract. Entry fees are set at 80 DH for adults and 50 DH for children, with family and group packages priced at 60 DH per adult and 40 DH per child. The project required a total investment of 250 million dirhams: 130 million DH from the Interior Ministry, 80 million DH from the Casablanca commune, and 40 million DH from the Casablanca–Settat region, according to Casa Amenagement.
