Nineteen people were killed and 16 others injured in the collapse of two adjacent four-story residential buildings in Fez, local authorities announced on Wednesday. The structures, which housed eight families, crumbled overnight in the Al-Mustaqbal neighborhood of the Al-Massira district. Emergency, local, and security services rushed to the scene, launching search-and-rescue operations while securing the surrounding area. Residents of nearby buildings were evacuated as a precaution to prevent additional casualties. Authorities said the injured were transferred to the University Hospital Center in Fez for examinations and treatment. Rescue teams continue to search for survivors who may still be trapped beneath the rubble.
