DR ‹ › AKDITAL has signed a memorandum of understanding to acquire 100% of Taoufik Hospitals Group (THG) in Tunisia for a total value of $90 million (about MAD 900 million), the group announced in a press release on Tuesday. The completion of the transaction remains subject to customary regulatory approvals. Founded in 2014, Taoufik Hospitals Group operates four private hospitals in Tunisia, with a combined capacity of more than 600 beds, including 100 intensive care beds. The group employs over 1,600 staff and works with a network of more than 500 partner physicians. Its facilities are positioned as centers of excellence in oncology, neurology, functional rehabilitation, traumatology, and interventional cardiology, alongside a comprehensive multidisciplinary offering. In 2024, THG reported consolidated revenues of over $45 million, with an EBITDA margin of 35% and a net margin of 13%. For 2025, the group expects around 15% growth, driven notably by the expansion of its oncology activities, according to the same press release. Following its first international footholds in Saudi Arabia, with hospitals in Riyadh and Mecca, this transaction would mark AKDITAL's first expansion into North Africa outside Morocco, reinforcing its ambition to build a regional growth platform anchored in medical excellence and talent development. It is worth noting that AKDITAL operates 41 healthcare facilities across 24 cities in Morocco, with a total capacity of 4,111 beds, and employs nearly 10,000 healthcare professionals. The group has been listed on the Casablanca Stock Exchange since December 2022.
