DR ‹ › Launched by the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) for the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN 2025) hosted in Morocco, the fan zones have sparked significant excitement among football enthusiasts and those who love festive gatherings. In cities like Essaouira, El Jadida, Oujda, Béni Mellal, and Laâyoune, these areas have attracted large crowds from the very start of the tournament. Families, friends, fans, and international visitors have gathered in impressive numbers, according to an official statement. As the tournament progresses, the fan zones have emerged as «iconic venues of the competition in cities not hosting the matches». This success «highlights the strategic foresight of the ONMT initiative, in collaboration with the Moroccan Royal Football Federation (FRMF), to invest in these spaces and bring the event closer to the people», the office noted. Designed to be a «showcase of Moroccan hospitality», these vibrant and open spaces have become centers for the «collective celebration of AFCON» transforming each match into a «moment of national unity». This initiative also bolsters the efforts of the FRMF and the Morocco 2030 Foundation, enhancing «the popular appeal of the competition and elevating Morocco's standing on the global stage», beyond just the sporting spectacle.
