DR ‹ › Morocco's State Secretariat in charge of Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, in coordination with the Maison de l'Artisan, has set up dedicated handicrafts spaces within the fan zones of cities hosting matches of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON Morocco 2025). Installed in Rabat, Tangier, Fes, Casablanca, Marrakech, and Agadir, these spaces form part of the first phase of the 9th National Handicrafts Week, held from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026, coinciding with Morocco's hosting of the continental football tournament. This initiative, embedded in the broader momentum generated by AFCON 2025, aims to showcase the richness and diversity of Moroccan and African handicrafts to visitors. The spaces feature exhibition stands, interactive demonstrations of artisans' know-how, and activities highlighting the beauty of traditional crafts and products. More than 300 artisans, cooperatives, and craft-based enterprises from Morocco and other African countries participating in AFCON 2025 are involved. They present a wide range of products, including carpets, textiles and fabrics, clothing, pottery and ceramics, leather goods, woodwork, jewelry, traditional footwear, plant-based products, marble, and decorative items. Open daily and free of charge, these spaces are accessible to both national and international visitors under the same access conditions as the fan zones, upon presentation of a supporter ID (FAN ID). At the Souissi fan zone in Rabat, the handicrafts area includes 25 stands and hosts guest African countries taking part in AFCON 2025, namely Benin, Tunisia, Tanzania, and Sudan. The program also offers a varied lineup of activities, including artisan workshops, live demonstrations of traditional crafts, and interactive sessions allowing visitors to take part in the production process.
