DR ‹ › A delegation from the United Kingdom's sports security team paid a working visit on Wednesday, January 14, to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, as part of the Moroccan-British bilateral security cooperation program in preparation for the 2030 World Cup. During the visit, the British delegation reviewed the security and public order protocol implemented by Rabat police during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025) semi-final between Morocco and Nigeria, reads a press release. The visit highlighted the advanced expertise developed by Morocco's national security services in securing next-generation sports venues, particularly in the electronic coordination of security units and the use of high-precision video surveillance to monitor crowd movement from stadium entry through final dispersal, in line with international standards. Earlier the same day, the British delegation also visited the African Security Cooperation Center in Salé, the first of its kind in the history of African football competitions, which coordinates operational security between Moroccan authorities and their counterparts from AFCON 2025 participating countries, as well as representatives from Spain, Portugal, Qatar, and Interpol. This is not the first visit of its kind, a delegation from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) visited Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium during the Morocco–Tanzania match. The delegation observed security deployment, surveillance levels, the use of drones and high-definition cameras, as well as digital coordination mechanisms linking fixed and mobile command centers.
