Archive photo ‹ › Berlin Green Week (Grüne Woche), one of the world's largest trade fairs dedicated to agriculture, marked its centenary this year as it opened on Friday in Berlin, with a strong Moroccan delegation in attendance. Held under the theme «100 Years of the Grüne Woche: Where History Meets the Future», this 90th edition sees Morocco represented by the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, and Water and Forests, Ahmed El Bouari, leading a delegation that includes officials from Morocco Foodex, the Agency for Agricultural Development (ADA), the National Agricultural Advisory Office (ONCA), and the National Institute of Agronomic Research. Taking part for the 11th consecutive year, Morocco is hosting a dedicated pavilion in Hall 18, where farmers representing the Kingdom's twelve regions will exhibit from January 16 to 25, 2026. Moroccan cooperatives and producers are showcasing a wide range of local products alongside more than 1,600 exhibitors from over 50 countries. This centennial edition will also feature visits by German Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as well as the participation of more than 70 agriculture ministers at the GFFA World Ministerial Conference on Agriculture, scheduled for January 17. Beyond exhibitions, the event serves as a platform for discussions on key global challenges, including climate protection, the circular economy, resource conservation, and sustainable land use. The Grüne Woche also traditionally marks the launch of the Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA), the leading international conference on the future of agriculture and food systems, held this year under the theme «Water. Harvests. Our Future».
