DR ‹ › Tétouan will, for the first time, be connected to London via a direct air route. Operated by Royal Air Maroc, the service links London Gatwick to Tétouan twice a week, with flights on Thursdays and Sundays aboard 96-seat Embraer 190 aircraft, according to British media. «This new route marks an exciting milestone for Royal Air Maroc and for the growing relationship between the UK and Morocco», said Zoubida Smahi, the airline's UK general manager. She added that it will benefit tourists, business travelers, and the Moroccan diaspora, while helping to «stimulate economic activity» and showcase the region's «natural beauty, heritage, and hospitality». Jonny Macneal, head of aviation development at London Gatwick, welcomed the new service, saying it offers passengers more choice for «unique cultural breaks» and access to «one of Morocco's most beautiful coastal regions».
