DR ‹ › The Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) has rolled out a targeted strategy to support the growth of Dakhla, following a field visit by its teams, according to a statement. In coordination with the Regional Tourism Council, local operators and territorial authorities, the ONMT held a series of strategic meetings aimed at aligning priorities and activating concrete growth drivers. The goal is to strengthen Dakhla-Oued Eddahab's positioning in high-value segments, notably sports, nature and experiential tourism. The strategy is built around four pillars: air connectivity, marketing, digital and distribution. On the air front, the ONMT is developing partnerships with national and international airlines to open new direct routes, particularly with France and Spain, to improve accessibility and boost international flows. Promotion efforts are also being stepped up through digital campaigns, content creation and influencer marketing, alongside increased visibility at major international events such as IFTM Top Resa and FITUR. At the same time, efforts are underway to build a stronger identity for Dakhla beyond kitesurfing, highlighting its seaside, nature and experiential appeal. The ONMT is also strengthening partnerships with tour operators and booking platforms to increase volumes, extend stays and enhance the local offer, targeting higher-value visitors. Domestic tourism remains another key lever, with initiatives aimed at encouraging more Moroccans to visit Dakhla.
