DR ‹ › Spanish Football Federation president Rafael Louzán has urged his government to step up its involvement in preparations for the 2030 World Cup, pointing to Morocco's growing momentum in the joint bid. «In Morocco, only one person is in charge, while here, many of us are», he said during a conference organized by Atlético Madrid and Apollo, Marca reported on Thursday. Louzán acknowledged Morocco's strong positioning within the project, noting that it is moving ahead with a more centralized and efficient approach. «We can't miss this opportunity… Spain must lead it,» he insisted, while also underlining the need to respond to the pace set by Morocco. «Starting in September, we have to take the bull by the horns. There are other structures that need to be ready.» He added that several stadium projects are already underway, as Morocco continues to advance its preparations, while renovations in Valencia and Zaragoza alone are expected to cost around €2.5 billion. The competition would be shared across Spain, Morocco, and Portugal, with 20 venues, 11 in Spain, six in Morocco, and three in Portugal.
