DR ‹ › During his visit to Morocco, the African Union's Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security, Bankole Adeoye, engaged in discussions in Rabat with top officials from the Royal Armed Forces (FAR). «The talks centered on pressing contemporary issues, notably the challenges posed by cybersecurity, strategies to bolster African capabilities against digital threats, and the importance of conducting joint military exercises among African nations to enhance readiness and coordination on the ground», the FAR stated in a communiqué released this Thursday. «This visit highlights Morocco's role as a strategic partner on the continent and reflects the African Union's commitment to strengthening its collaboration with the Kingdom to address both traditional and modern security challenges», the same source added. The Nigerian official did not comment on social media about his meeting with Moroccan military leaders, only mentioning his discussions on Tuesday with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita. It's worth noting that during his first visit to Rabat in November 2021, Bankole Adeoye remarked that «Morocco plays a significant role, particularly in security and development policy in Africa».
