DR ‹ › Morocco will host the 77th FIFA Congress in 2027, a key event for global football governance, RMC Sport reported on Tuesday, citing multiple sources. The congress, expected to take place in Rabat, will bring together delegations from across the world and will be marked by the election of FIFA's president. Gianni Infantino is widely expected to run for re-election, potentially seeking a fourth term through 2031, as his first mandate (2016–2019) was shortened following the resignation of Sepp Blatter. The decision to hold the congress in Morocco reflects the country's growing role in international football, following its hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and ahead of the 2030 World Cup, which it will co-host. The event is also seen as an opportunity for FIFA to project toward the 2030 tournament. Before that, the 76th FIFA Congress is set to take place in Vancouver, Canada, this week, marking the unofficial start of preparations for the 2026 World Cup (June 11–July 19).
