DR ‹ › Morocco will host the first-ever E-Foil World Cup in Africa from May 8 to 10 at the Marchica Lagoon Resort in Nador. E-foiling is a watersport where riders glide above the water on an electric surfboard lifted by a submerged hydrofoil. Branded as the Marchica E-Foil Trophy – SFT Surf Foil World Tour E-Foil World Cup 2026, the competition will bring together top national and international riders in a fast-growing discipline that combines technology and watersports. The Nador stage is the third stop on the 2026 global circuit, following Düsseldorf in Germany and Leucate in France. The event is organized by Marchica Lagoon Resort and E-Foil Maroc, in coordination with the Global Foil Board Sports Association and the Surf Foil World Tour, with support from partners including the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT) and the Oriental Regional Tourism Council. «Hosting an event of this scale at Marchica Lagoon Resort reflects a clear ambition: to firmly position the resort on the international map of leading tourism and sports destinations», said Tarik Kerdoudi, commercial and marketing director of Marchica Lagoon Resort. The three-day competition will feature time-trial qualifiers followed by head-to-head elimination rounds, with a total prize pool of 100,000 dirhams across multiple categories. Beyond the sporting competition, the event will also include cultural performances and official ceremonies as part of the Marchica Lagoon Watersports Festival, designed as an immersive experience for participants and visitors. «The integration of Nador into the Surf Foil World Tour reflects the Tour's commitment to opening the discipline to emerging destinations offering exceptional conditions», said Faycal Guenoun, CEO of E-Foil Maroc.
