The House of Representatives and the High Council of State of Libya have extended their gratitude to Morocco for its unwavering efforts in resolving the ongoing crisis and fostering security and stability in Libya. This expression of thanks was made on Thursday during a meeting in Bouznika. «We reiterate our deep thanks and immense gratitude to the brotherly Morocco, King, government, and people, for the hospitality, warm welcome, and great support that the Kingdom has continuously provided to the Libyan people for several years to end the crisis and restore security, stability, and unity in Libya», stated the final communiqué. The communiqué was read by Salah Mitou, a member of the High Council of State, on behalf of both the council and the House, marking the conclusion of their consultative meeting in Bouznika. This gathering, which brought together 120 participants, was a part of the Inter-Libyan Dialogue. It aimed to inject new momentum into the political process in Libya, with the goal of achieving presidential and parliamentary elections through a roadmap that would lead to the formation of a unity government. In 2015, under the directives of King Mohammed VI, Morocco hosted a series of dialogue sessions in Skhirat between the Libyan factions. These talks, conducted under the auspices of the United Nations, culminated in the Skhirat Agreement, a pivotal development in addressing the Libyan crisis. The Skhirat Agreement facilitated the creation of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord. It also established mechanisms to unify state institutions and organize elections, thereby advancing the establishment of Libyan state institutions. This agreement aimed to uphold Libya's national unity and territorial sovereignty, aligning with the Libyan people's aspirations for progress, prosperity, and development.
