Rachida Dati, the French Minister of Culture, is visiting Morocco's Sahara region. Her itinerary includes the inauguration of the French Cultural Center in Laayoune on February 17. According to a provisional program seen by Yabiladi, Dati's schedule also features a visit to Dakhla, where she will explore the renowned rock engravings site. Additionally, her journey will include a stopover in Tarfaya. While in Rabat, Minister Dati is expected to engage in discussions with her Moroccan counterpart, Mehdi Bensaid. The two officials will participate in the signing of several cooperation agreements aimed at bolstering cultural ties between France and Morocco. Notably, these agreements will involve collaborations between the Bibliothèque Nationale du Royaume du Maroc (BNRM) and the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (BNF), as well as between the Archives de France and the Archives du Maroc. Furthermore, a twinning arrangement will be formalized between the Château de Chambord and Chellah. Previously, on June 18 in Cannes, Mehdi Bensaid and Rachida Dati held talks focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in the realms of culture, cinema, and cultural heritage. These discussions underscored the commitment of both nations to fostering stronger cultural connections.
