A dispute over a piece of agricultural land in the Tlata Loulad community, in the Settat province, has ended in tragedy, claiming the life of a woman and leaving another seriously injured and hospitalized in critical condition. According to a statement from the victim's father, the conflict arose over a plot of farmland he legally owns, in opposition to a local family. He explained that a member of the rival family had recently begun using the land illegally, grazing sheep and other livestock there without permission. The father said his daughter confronted a member of the family, asking him to leave the land. However, the family refused and insisted on continuing to use the property without any legal right. He added that he filed a complaint with the public prosecutor, but no formal action was taken by the security authorities, which further exacerbated tensions. Later, the victim returned to the land in an attempt to clear it once again, leading to a renewed confrontation. During the altercation, her car struck some sheep grazing on the disputed land. In retaliation, members of the rival family pelted her car with stones, causing significant damage. The victim was subsequently detained by the security authorities until the early hours of the morning, before being released by order of the public prosecutor. Tragically, the situation escalated after her release. She was brutally attacked with an iron rod and stabbed with a knife, resulting in her death. Another woman who was with her at the time also suffered serious injuries.
