Morocco is set to host a big mixed martial arts event on June 14, 2025, with the launch of the Maghreb Fighting Championship (MFC) at the Complexe Sportif Bachir in Mohammedia. The initiative is led by Furkan Beltek, a Turkish-Dutch entrepreneur based in Casablanca, who envisions the MFC as a springboard for Moroccan MMA talent. Described as «Morocco's first-ever professional MMA league», the championship aims to «elevate Moroccan MMA to the global stage and give fighters a platform to shine». The debut gala will feature semi-finals in the featherweight and lightweight categories, along with a special women's bantamweight bout offering a €10,000 prize. Around 4,000 fans are expected to attend, with fighters from Morocco and the diaspora featured on the card. Following the launch, MFC plans to host monthly ranked competitions across different weight classes, establishing a structured and long-term MMA circuit in the country. The event will be livestreamed on YouTube, and early-bird tickets are available for 100 dirhams via MFC's social media channels.
