Former Raja Casablanca president Mohamed Boudrika appeared this week before the Aïn Sebaâ Criminal Court of First Instance for the opening of his trial. He faces multiple charges, including fraud, issuing bad checks, forgery and use of forged documents, swindling, and the illegal obtaining of an administrative document. Boudrika, who also previously served as president of the Mers Sultan district, filed a request for provisional release through his legal team, a request that was denied. The session was adjourned until next week. During the opening hearing on Tuesday, the defense raised concerns about the extradition procedure from Germany. They also noted that the case file includes withdrawals by some complainants and cited both the statute of limitations and a lack of supporting documents. During the investigation, the defendant denied all charges. Mohamed Boudrika was arrested in July 2024 at Hamburg Airport under an international arrest warrant issued by Morocco, followed by a Europol notice. Since his extradition, the investigating judge has ordered that he remain in custody. The court remained unconvinced by the defense's assurances regarding his availability for future hearings.
