YNNA Group, a major player in Morocco's industrial and services sectors, and AMEA Power, an international renewable energy developer and subsidiary of the Emirati conglomerate Al Nowais Investments, have announced a strategic partnership to develop a 100-megawatt wind farm in the Laayoune region. Construction is slated to begin in late 2025, with operations expected to start in 2027. The 50-50 joint venture represents a key investment supporting Morocco's national energy transition strategy and the country's goal of achieving 52% renewable energy by 2030, reads a press release. The facility is projected to prevent over 330,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually. «This partnership with AMEA Power marks a decisive turning point for YNNA and reflects our commitment to building a competitive, sovereign, and low-carbon energy model for our subsidiaries and Morocco», said Mama Tajmouati, Chairman and CEO of YNNA Group. «This strategic partnership with YNNA Group aims to deliver a landmark project in Morocco, a brotherly country to the UAE. The project fully aligns with our commitment to developing sustainable, accessible energy solutions with a strong local impact», Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, added. The wind farm will supply green electricity to all YNNA subsidiaries while generating significant environmental and socio-economic benefits locally and nationally. Founded in 1948, YNNA employs over 20,000 people across multiple sectors, while AMEA Power operates in 20 countries with a portfolio exceeding 6,000 MW capacity.
