A court in Al Hoceima has reduced the prison sentence of a man initially convicted in the case involving a German tourist who mutilated his own genitals, according to Assabah. The suspect, who had hosted the German national at his home, was originally sentenced by the Targuist court to five years in prison and a fine. He faced multiple charges, including drug possession, production, trafficking, consumption, and driving violations such as lacking insurance, skipping a vehicle inspection, and driving without a license. The case began when the German tourist was admitted to Mohammed VI Regional Hospital, prompting police to arrest the host on suspicion of involvement. However, the tourist later admitted to mutilating himself while under the influence of drugs. The tourist received a six-month suspended sentence for drug use and filing a false report, a verdict upheld on appeal.
