The world-class infrastructure developed by Morocco has propelled the Kingdom into the «global football elite», said FIFA President Gianni Infantino on Wednesday. «The vision of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty the King, to promote football excellence on a global scale is truly extraordinary», Infantino stated to the press on the sidelines of the reception hosted by King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Throne Day. Recalling his recent visit to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Sports Complex in Rabat, the FIFA President praised the «magnificent» organization of the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, held in Morocco from July 5 to 26. «I want to congratulate Morocco for its outstanding performance during this continental tournament», he added. Infantino went on to highlight that Morocco is set to host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (men's edition), the next five editions of the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, and the 2030 FIFA World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal, emphasizing the Kingdom's «exceptional» infrastructure. He also expressed pride in the opening of FIFA's Africa office in Morocco, describing it as a structure that will play «a central role» in supporting both African and global football.
