Two people were killed and nine others seriously injured in violent clashes on Saturday night in the Jinane Zenata area of Ain Harrouda, in Mohammedia province. The confrontations broke out between groups of irregular migrants from Sub-Saharan Africa, particularly from Sudan. According to media reports, the migrants used knives and sticks during the fighting, sparking panic among local residents. Authorities intervened to break up the clashes and have maintained a heavy security presence in the area through Monday to prevent further gatherings. In response, governor of the prefecture of Mohammedia Adil El Maliki ordered the dismantling of makeshift huts set up by the migrants to avoid a recurrence of such incidents. Meanwhile, the Royal Gendarmerie, under the supervision of the Public Prosecutor's Office, has opened a full investigation into the events.
