The President of the French Senate's Economic Affairs Committee, Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, praised Morocco's «notable» dynamism in the field of renewable energy during a visit to Rabat on Tuesday, stressing that the kingdom serves as an inspiring model through its forward-looking initiatives and projects. «Morocco is showing remarkable dynamism in the renewable energy sector. This topic is also crucial for France. We have much to learn from the initiatives implemented in Morocco, as well as from the future projects being considered», she said in a press release following her meeting with Ryad Mezzour, Morocco's Minister of Industry and Trade. Leading a French Senate delegation on a working visit, Estrosi-Sassone highlighted Morocco's achievements across strategic sectors, noting that the country is at the forefront of several key issues, particularly the energy transition. She also underscored the strength of Morocco's automotive sector, pointing out that the kingdom has built a comprehensive ecosystem covering thermal, electric, and hybrid vehicles. This recognition carries particular weight given the difficulties currently facing the European automotive industry. «The automotive sector is experiencing a deep crisis in France, as it is across Europe», Estrosi-Sassone observed, recalling the launch of a dedicated mission to study the future of the sector. She further emphasized the importance of reinforcing the Morocco–France partnership and preserving bilateral relations, which she described as mutually beneficial.
