The British Labour government has reiterated its endorsement of Morocco's autonomy plan for Western Sahara. This stance was confirmed by Hamish Falconer, the British Under-Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs in charge of the Middle East and North Africa, in response to a written inquiry from Labour MP Will Stone. «On June 1, Foreign Secretary David Lammy co-hosted the UK-Morocco strategic dialogue in Rabat, during which agreements were signed in the sectors of education, health, infrastructure, and trade. This event marked a significant milestone in the bilateral relations», Falconer noted. «The Foreign Secretary also backed Morocco's autonomy proposal for Western Sahara, pledging the UK's support to the involved parties and the UN in achieving a mutually agreeable resolution. Additionally, on June 1 in Rabat, David Lammy, the head of British diplomacy, had declared the UK's backing for the Moroccan autonomy plan for Western Sahara.
