On Thursday, September 11, Minister of Transport and Logistics Abdessamad Qayouh, together with Mohamed Rabie Khlie, Director General of the National Railway Office (ONCF), inaugurated the new railway station in Taza. The project is part of ONCF's broader strategy to modernize stations and upgrade railway infrastructure, according to a statement from the office. Strategically located near the city's main hubs, the new station with its contemporary architectural design, has been conceived as a prominent urban landmark. It offers travelers and residents an integrated, modern space that blends functionality with aesthetics. Built with an investment of around 50 million dirhams, the Taza station is expected to boost the city's socio-economic development and reinforce its role as a regional hub. Its multifunctional, modern design integrates seamlessly into the urban landscape, offering passengers a comfortable and practical environment. The building itself spans 1,700 square meters, including a 520-square-meter reception hall, a 150-square-meter passenger area, and 260 square meters of commercial space. Outside, the station opens onto a large 18,300-square-meter plaza featuring a parking lot with more than 70 spaces. Starting September 15, ONCF will expand service by adding two additional daily trips between Taza and Fez, one in the morning and another in the evening, to better respond to citizens' commuting needs. Service will also be extended to Al Hoceima through a new direct road connection provided by Supratours buses, offering two round trips per day.
